Children's Religious
Education - is responsible for the following:
- Supporting Director of Religious Education
- Reviewing curriculum with minister and Director of Religious Education
- Discussing plans and goals with minister and Director of Religious
Education
Membership - is responsible for the following:
- Phone calls to remind about events
- Planning and facilitating Membership Circles for new people to meet the
minister/members during coffee hour
- Arranging for Sunday Greeters, Hospitality - coffee/flowers
- Planning special events (i.e., picnic, birthday parties)
- Planning events for Membership Month in January
- Providing publicity and community-wide events
- Providing informational packets for visitors
Finance - is responsible for the following:
- Reviewing current finances and any special issues or needs related to
finance
- Planning budget for the coming year
Building & Grounds - is responsible for the following:
- Building maintenance concerns
- Prioritizing jobs, hiring contractors, if necessary, or forming work
parties
Adult Religious Education - is responsible for the following:
- Providing for an interesting educational program for our adult members
- Reviewing various books for adult curriculum
- Planning special events for adults sponsored by Adult Religious
Education
- Holding book groups/discussions (i.e., New Testament)
Program Committee - is responsible for the following:
- Planning events sponsored by committee
- Planning and providing for “Program Sundays”
- Planning and providing for “Summer Services”
- Finding interesting people to lead services, lay-led or guest speakers
from out of church
- Planning panel discussion services (i.e., God Panel), and doing
organizational work that goes with planning a service, such as paperwork,
publicity
Social Action - is responsible for the following:
- Planning for and providing for opportunities for our church to become
involved in community service/social action. Previous events have included
collection for orphanage in Haiti, Giving Tree (Christmas presents for
needy), Valentine bags to Food Pantry, Oxfam dinner
Ways and Means - is responsible for the following:
- Raising money for our church expenses
- Planning and implementing fundraisers, brainstorm. Past events have
included Annual Auction, Yard Sale, Raffles, Holiday Fair, Tall Ships
- Making phone calls related to Ways and Means
- Decorating, planning refreshment, selling tickets for events
Helping Hands - is responsible for the following:
- Helping members/friends in times of need
- Providing cooking (most often), transportation, childcare
- Visiting members
- Making phone calls
Canvass - is responsible for the following:
- Planning the Canvass Campaign (kick-off, theme, parties and paperwork
involved)
Housekeeping - is responsible for the following:
- Taking care of keeping the building in readiness for worship and
meetings
Music - is responsible for the following:
- Overseeing music for the Society
Technology Committee - is responsible for the following:
- Supporting all technology needs of the church, including (but not
limited to) computers, networking, website, telephone, and copiers.
Socials:
A number of other fun and interesting activities are available. Newcomers are always welcome! For more information, contact the

- Book Discussion Group - Meets once a month in a member's home for
discussion of a wide variety of interesting literary selections. Contact is Pam Rogers.
- Circle Suppers
- Potluck suppers, offering opportunities to meet and enjoy the company of
other church members. Usually scheduled three times a year. Contact is
Jim Slack.
- Saturday Night at the Movies - Meets once a month at a
member's home to view a current or old movie chosen by the host/hostess.

- UU's At Lunch
- A monthly lunchtime gathering. Venues
include a wide variety of restaurants in and around Westborough. Contact
