Following our display of the Field of Flags last May – June 2007, we continue our focus on the War.  Our sign now in front of the church reflects the ongoing sacrifice and loss of life of our US soldiers.  We update this sign monthly.  The first Sunday of the month, we present the current numbers reflecting the number of US soldier fatalities, the number of US soldiers wounded and the estimated number of Iraqi civilian fatalities.  As these numbers increase, we keep our awareness that these numbers reflect the lives of real people and also include the grief and loss of their families and friends, whose lives are forever changed.  We remember and honor all of these lives lost.  We remember and honor those whose lives are forever changed by their wounds.  We pray for an end to this War, for peace to come to us all.
